Events of Bliss Launch Party & Spring Fashion Show

VENUE:

The Launch party & spring Fashion Show took place at the Canoe Club Ball Room in Bridgewater, MA on 5/1/16. The venue is most well known for being a nice south shore setting for weddings and family functions. Set back off the road down a small driveway the space is surrounded by lush gardens and an all seasons patio. The room was decorated simply with the over all color tone being a soft purple, similar to the EoB business color scheme. There was a check in desk with a very friendly and helpful staff (big plus!) a bar and seating was arranged in a T shape with a main runway in the middle. The DJ booth was at the end of the runway. A lot of the runway photos/video have the DJ and DJ booth in the shots b/c of the way things were positioned.

VENDORS:

Christalight & Co was the only vendor for the event. They were also sponsors and ran the step & repeat. The photo wall was super popular with the guests and was set up very nicely with a red carpet and great lighting. The backdrop and photo equipment (which allowed folks to see their photos instantly after posing) were nice professional touches. There were also several high profile videographers in attendance.

THE SHOW:

The show was primarily a launch party for entrepreneur Armelle Bernard's new event planning company Events of Bliss. The lively party was MC'd by the charismatic and fashionable "Media Mogul on the Rise" Stephanie Millions . She was upbeat and engaging with the audience especially during times when the next designer was not ready to come out. Stephanie did a great job of keeping the show going by pulling a few members out of the audience for a "walk off battle" . This is a common fashion show time filler that has become more popular in recent years. It was really fun and the male model walk off included Armelle's dad who was a great sport and seemed extremely proud of EoB's success. There were 3 talented performers who sang / rapped throughout the evening.

THE DESIGNERS:

The show lineup had a mix of handbags, urban wear and semi-casual dresses.

Jocelyn Mercedes boutique featured some amazing items for the summer season. The stand out piece was a fabulous gold lycra sheen one piece swimsuit paired with a dramatic white cape. It also featured an extremely unique model with electric blue box braids, hot shades and a fierce attitude.

Dnalsi came through with a line of fun Haitian pride t shirts emblazoned with the "Sak Pase" Boston paired with jeans.

KOLS (aka KOLS Kings) hit the runway with a collections of urban wear covered in their trademark logo. The line featured KOLS signature fitted tshirt style with a few of the tops featuring their lion emblem.

Just Shiffon made a fun and flirty runway statement with a lovely line of colorful womenswear. Stand out pieces included a summer bandage dress in a teal, cream and magenta wrap color block pattern. Coral tones and light fabric were also seen throughout the collection.

Sew Clutched featured a fashionable and useful line of handbags and clutches made from several unique materials including faux snakeskin. The styles ranged from cross-body to small evening mini bags.

The Launch closed out with a second season collection by "Envieux" clothing (designer: Kerley Bernard) flowing dresses in pastel colors made up the majority of the line. The standout piece: a beautiful long sleeve floral gown with a draped waist tie.
